Ss is for Shark Printables!

I’m going to be making tot school printables for Royal every week that correspond with our Ocean theme.  We e started with J is for jellyfish from 1+1+1=1.  We will still continue to use some of the material from the J is for jellyfish and just add in some different letters throughout the weeks.

S is for shark includes:
Ss is for shark
Shark dot Ss page
Ss page with S words
Shark dot paint page

Tot school – 4th of July/Beach theme

Royal is 26.5 months

We had a great week – starting with some 4th of July activities and then moving on to our beach theme (which we will continue throughout July).
Royal didn’t do as much at our local fair as Baloo.  I think it was a bit overwhelming for him.  He did try a few things though!

He loved the cotton candy!

They attempted hula hoops but I don’t think we are quite there yet.

Watching the fireworks!   He loved the show!

Royal also did a sticker flag.  He actually did pretty well getting the stickers onto the white dots even though the color didn’t match.  He had a lot of fun with it though!  Flag page from Making Learning Fun.

He traced lines on a worksheet from 2 Teaching Mommies.

Royal got this Guidecraft nesting toy for his birthday and he played with it a lot this week!  He would stack them up, mix up the colors, put them on the board…etc!

Beach/Ocean Theme

We started our monthly beach/ocean theme this week with S is for Shark!  Royal loved working with the shark material!
He dot painted the S is for shark page.

And colored his S page.

We got out some blue playdough and he had a blast with it!  He rolled it out, cut it up, used some cookie cutters , and just mashed it with his hands.

He did the S alphabet page from Homeschool Creations.  I cut out the pictures and he glued them down!

I finally made a sensory bin and the boys loved it!!  I’ll have to write a more detailed post about what is in there this week.

We had the opportunity to go pick some blueberries this week with our homeschool group and although it was insanely hot, we had a great time.   And the blueberries we got were amazing!!  We have checked out Blueberries for Sal from the library and are going to do some activities with it!

That’s all from this week!!  Look for more great tot school ideas at 1+1+1=1!

Last week of PreK

Well this was officially Baloo’s last week of PreK.  He starts kindergarten on Monday, although he’s not really excited.  I don’t think he gets it just yet!
We started the week off with a lot of fun 4th of July activities (complete with a trip to Freedom Fest on base!)  Baloo loved the obstacle course and did it 3 times!

We decided to go back that night to catch the fireworks.  I think this picture sums it all up.

We woke up Monday morning and decided to really do the 4th of July.  I made some fruit flags…

And red, “white” and blue pancakes (complete with initials and stars!)

I printed off some sheets for the boys.  Baloo did this flag sticker sheet from Making Learning Fun using colored circle stickers.

I’ve decided to start doing monthly themes instead of weekly.  Doing one theme a week is too short to get everything in, and too difficult to get enough materials!!  For the month of July we are doing a beach/ocean theme (and at the end of the month taking a trip to the beach!)
For Baloo I made some Sh is for shark printables and we worked on identifying that sh says shhhhh.  He caught on pretty quickly.  These printables are in the tot school printable format because Baloo always wants to help Royal with his sheets (and Royal always wants to do Baloos stuff!).

You can download my Sh is for Shark printables here!

And I had him work on some You Can Read printables.  We got some cheap stamps at Walmart which I heard about via The Iowa Farmer’s Wife.  They are about $3 or $4 in the craft section!

We got out the playdough for some fun and I had Baloo use some letter tiles (we got these at Micheals in the stone section – they are meant for pushing letters into soft cement or clay) and he stamped out his sight words.

We’re going to be starting Handwriting Without Tears and one thing they suggest is using a small chalkboard and small pieces of chalk to practice writing.  We found this small chalkboard for $1 at Micheals!

We went blueberry picking with our new homeschool group!  Baloo hates blueberries, but he really enjoyed picking them!  Royal loves blueberries and he ate more than he brought home!!
