It’s time for a new theme and one of my favorites – transportation! All week long we will have a great assortment of transportation printables! Don’t miss any by either signing up for the newsletter:
Or by keeping an eye on the 31 Days of Printables page!
This is another printable I made just for Logi-Bear even though he isn’t quite ready for it. I might introduce it to him this week though to see how he does with it. I love sliders because I feel like they demonstrate the association between words in the same word family. It’s hard to deny that the letters don’t change when you’re only changing that first letter!
How to Make the Transportation CVC Sliders
I only laminated mine, and did not use cardstock. I think cardstock would make it more durable but without an exacto knife or other razor, it would be harder to cut through. So I laminated everything on one sheet and then cut it out. Make sure not to cut the strip into pieces, just one long strip.
Next you’ll want to cut two slits on the top and bottom of the blank white part on the vehicle.
The letters slide in from the bottom and go back out on the top. This way only one letter shows at a time.
By sliding the letters up or down, a new word is made! There are 5 word families in the set (all with the shot ‘e’ sound) and they each have between 2 and 4 letters to make words.
Last week I sent out a free Dinosaur ABC order printable to the newsletter list. I’m not sure what this week’s will be yet, but it’s bound to be something cool, right? Don’t miss it by signing up for the newsletter! (On a side note, the ABC Order will be available soon for everyone)
