My husband is in the U.S. Army and currently serving in Afghanistan.  In the past we haven’t really done up Veteran’s Day because I knew Baloo was too young to really grasp the concept.  It is likely that he still doesn’t grasp it very well, but I want him to be proud of his dad.  So this year we’re really going to celebrate.  I thought I’d share our plans the night before!! 

We started on Monday by making a flag for our door.  It was just a simple flag.  I used a white piece of paper and had Baloo glue 7 red strips on it.  On top of the strips we added a blue square.  Once it was all dry I had him color on some stars.

 

Then I punched 2 holes in it and we hung it on our front door!!

We have a playdate tomorrow so Baloo and I made our cupcakes tonight.  We will decorate them in the morning.  I did a practice one and let Baloo eat it today though.

I know he looks crazy but he’s just showing off his chef hat.  I just finished sewing it today and he was pretty excited about it!
