Yogurt Painting

Royal – 12 motnhs
Baloo – 3 years 9 months

This idea came from notimeforflashcards.com.  Yogurt painting is a really great craft for kids who still put everything in their mouth, because it’s edible!  Royal is only 12 months old so naturally he puts everything in his mouth still.  Ironically though, he refused to eat the red and blue yogurt.  You know if that was real paint it would be all over his mouth!

Materials needed:
Yogurt (no fruit, just plain vanilla.)
Food coloring
Paper

Mix up the yogurt with the food coloring.  Just a drop or two should be fine – a little goes a long way here!

For older children you can set it up like a paint tray.  For younger ones just put a little colored yogurt on their paper and let them go at it!

Testing the waters:

Getting a bit more into it:

There we go!

I think Royal’s first painting craft was a success!!

Here is Baloo working on his artwork

You can see we just mixed our paint with spoons in little Tupperware type containers.  I tried to convince Baloo to finger paint, but he decided to paint with the spoons instead.

And there you have it!  Yogurt painting!!
