Cutting Strip Art
For day 2 of my 31 days of Homeschool Printables I bring you cutting strip art!
Last week I put out these cutting strip printables to download.
I couldn’t wait to use them with Royal, but I wanted to wait until we could buy some colored paper. We finally had a chance to print them out! I didn’t want to overwhelm him so I just cut out 3 pages. Before giving them to him I cut them into the strips.
He set off right away with cutting. He was convinced he couldn’t cut these, but he did great! Starting off with easier ones (like the green pictured above) helped to boost his confidence.
Even Baloo wanted to chip in. He thought this was too fun.
After he had cut for awhile, I got out another piece of paper and spread glue all over. I would have preferred to let Royal be in control of the glue, but I had another little boy who needed attention at that moment and I couldn’t trust Royal alone with glue without me right there.
I let him decorate with the shapes he had just cut as he pleased.
And in the end, we had some fun art!
Baloo also had fun. He used the shapes to make a small bow and arrow set!
So, when you’re practicing cutting, keep those little pieces! They’re perfect for some abstract art, or sometimes not so abstract!

Thank you for this. I printed them out and have yet to put them in use. Now I have two reasons! BTW, love how your comment font changes to cursive 🙂
