Gingerbread ABC Matching Cards

We are having a lot of fun with the gingerbread stuff this week.  I just couldn’t resist making some matching ABC gingerbread men and houses.  You can find the download link to them at the bottom of this post!

 

Gingerbread Man Theme

Gingerbread man is such a fun theme for kids – especially around the holidays!

You can add all kinds of fun activities and read all of the different gingerbread man versions!

Make Your Own Gingerbread Man ABC Cards

I printed them off on 7 different colored sheets of cardstock, and I did end up laminating them because we will be using them all week for all 3 boys!

Yesterday we used them for Logi-Bear and Royal.  With Logi-Bear I had him match the colors.

He matched them all, then we pointed to the letters.

For Royal, I had him match up the letters in each color group.  I didn’t want him to rely on matching by color for this.

He liked getting the gingerbread men “home”.

Then we worked together to get the ABCs in order.  I did most of this because Royal has never done this type of activity before.  After we had the colorful pattern going I had him guess what color the next letter would be.  And we sang the ABC song about 50 times to get them all in order.

When we had them all set up, he chose a gingerbread man to run through the alphabet while singing the song.

And to finish it up, we matched all the uppercase and lowercase letters “to get the gingerbread men home”.
