Sometimes even the most eager readers need more entertaining methods of learning to read. That’s Logi-Bear in a nutshell. He’s quickly learning but really needs more practice. However, a lot of reading practice is overwhelming to him so we rely on games.
And naturally, online reading games are the major favorite. So Reading Eggs was the perfect solution to get him reading more.

Reading Eggs is Entertaining and Fun
My kids are a bit spoiled when it comes to learning and fun. My whole philosophy is that learning should be fun so we are constantly seeking out fun learning games and activities. They especially enjoy games on the computer.
Reading Eggs fits in with this philosophy perfectly. They find the reading games fun and engaging. This has been especially important with Logi-Bear. As motivated as he is to learn to read, he struggles with spending time practicing reading. So having entertaining games for him has greatly increased the amount of time he practices reading.
He also likes that there is a variety of games. Each concept is covered multiple times throughout different games and activities.
Being safe on the internet is very important especially for young kids who don’t understand all of the possible dangers. Having a place where they can learn to read online while still being safe is highly important.
Reading Eggs does not have a chat or friend feature where strangers could target our kids. There is no way to contact other people or have other people contact them.
Learning Computer Skills
I remember when Baloo turned 5 and he wanted to play video games on the computer. But he wasn’t very adept with the house and had never encountered a keyboard before. He felt frustrated to the point that he just didn’t want to use the computer. It took him some time, but eventually, he got used to the mouse and keyboard.
Reading Eggs automatically introduces kids to computers and computer skills. Now that they have the new Reading Eggs Jr for 2 to 4-year-olds, learning those computer skills will be easier than ever.
The games, for the most part, are not timed. So while it may take them a bit to get used to the mouse, they will not miss answers and have issues with beginning computer skills.
Over time, playing these games will definitely improve their ability on both the mouse and the keyboard.
Games are Interactive
Of course, the entire idea behind games is that they are interactive. Reading Eggs has so many variations of games that are interactive in different ways. I know that when my kids move on from a lesson, they’ve demonstrated they understand what is being taught. It would be hard to game this system!
