My kids love sharks. And why wouldn’t they? These creatures are majestic in their own right.

Sharks are a bit scary and a bit mysterious. We have this tendency to build them up in our stories and news and terrifying and indestructible creatures.

It’s natural that kids are fascinated!

I wanted to make a quick resource for my kids to reference when they had a quick shark question. These bookmarks were the perfect answer!

Shark Facts Bookmarks

I find it interesting that we tend to think of one shark in particular when we say ‘shark’ and that’s the Great White Shark. Most sharks are not nearly as large as the Great White and most of them are not nearly as aggressive as we tend to think of sharks.

There are even “vegetarian” sharks!

I learned a lot while reading about each type of shark and I hope these bookmarks will influence others to read more as well.

Shark Week Bookmarks

We’ve been doing a Shark Unit Study and reading a few shark books so I wanted to give the boys a quick way to reference different sharks.

A few of our current favorite shark books are:

How to Survive as a Shark

Shark Lady: The True Story of How Eugenie Clark Became the Ocean’s Most Fearless Scientist

These bookmarks are a great way to easily compare different types of shark and shark facts!

We put ours on a metal key ring so they could all stay together. But they can definitely be used as regular bookmarks as well.

Each bookmark has the same info for each shark.

  • Size
  • Weight
  • Life Span
  • Food
  • Fun Facts

There is so much information about there about sharks that we couldn’t fit it all. Encourage your kids to check out more shark books to get even more information.
