The Sorting Turkey

Turkey’s are just too much fun.  There are endless options for turkey crafts, activities, etc.  I love turkeys!

This year we decided to do a sorting turkey.  I cut out the turkey body and feathers.  Then I added shapes to each feather.  I did either one, two, or three of each shape.  Then we had 3 options for sorting.

Royal is relatively familiar with sorting, so I asked him how we could separate them into three piles.  First he wanted to do it by shape.

Then I mixed them up again and we sorted by how many shapes were on the feathers.

Last we sorted by color.  Logi-Bear helped us with this one!  We all called out the color and figure out which pile it went in.  I had to help a bit more on this step because they were starting to get tired of the sorting and I didn’t want to stop the fun.

I let Royal decide which method of sorting we would use for the turkey (by color).  We glued on the beak, waddle, and eyes, and I wrote the color.

Then we glued the feathers down!  The turkey’s turned out pretty adorable, in my opinion!!

Great sorting, fun activity, and cute craft…all in one!
