Valentines Day Silly Sentences

Valentines Day Silly Sentences are a hilarious way to practice parts of speech. Get your kids going (physically and intellectually) with this simple activityThese silly sentences have been a hit with my kids!  They crack up laughing at the combinations they come up with.  Sometimes they even help me come up with the words to try to get the best examples possible.  I happy make them because they are happily using them!

How to Set Up the Silly Sentences

I recommend printing on regular paper and not planning to store the dice.  Even with cardstock or lamination, they don’t hold up well.  You’re probably better off using paper and recycling it when you’re done.

So print and cut on the lines.  Don’t cut on the dotted lines!  Fold on all the dotted lines (best to do this beforehand).  Tape together the sides until you have your dice.

 

How to use the Valentines Day Silly Sentences

We tend to go a bit nuts with these.  The boys just throw them all over then we bring them back to read our sentence.  My goal is always to make them laugh hysterically!

 

You can also discuss what each part is in terms of parts of speech.  We talk a lot about nouns and verbs with these.

 

Sometimes I have them play independently and come up with the best sentence.  Other times they each take their own di and make a super silly sentence as a group.
