Three Little Pigs Shape Challenge
The Three Little Pigs is a classic story and one that nearly every child knows. Which makes it a terrific theme and perfect for almost any subject.
I’m loving this chance to use the Three Little Pigs story to work on shapes.

The Three Little Pigs Shape Challenge
The Three Little Pigs is one of my favorite fairy tales. I love how well it is set up for animated story telling.
Just try to huff and puff like a wolf without really getting into it.
I found these adorable pig shapes and immediately knew they had to be related to this story.

The Three Little Pigs Shapes Cards
The first part of this set is the Pigs Shape cards. There is a card for 12 different shapes:
- circle
- triangle
- square
- rhombus
- octagon
- crescent
- heart
- hexagon
- rectangle
- pentagon
- parallelogram
- oval
- trapezoid
- star
Each shape comes on it’s own little card – which is perfect for sorting!
And if you want, you could make a memory game out of these cards. Just print two sets.
Popsicle Stick Shape Challenge Cards
The second part of this set is the challenge part – popsicle stick challenges!
Except, I’m going to encourage you to make it a straw, stick, and brick challenge.
Use these challenge cards to make houses made of straw, sticks, or bricks in the correct shape for the pigs.
We used LEGO bricks for our bricks.
Popsicle sticks would be fine for the sticks.
As for straw – dry spaghetti would be fine. Or grass.

Use the shape challenge cards to help build the shapes.
Additionally, on the right side of each shape challenge card there is either a ‘circle all the shapes’ or a ‘trace the shape’ extra challenge. If you laminate you challenge cards first, you can use a dry erase marker to answer these questions!
Put it All Together
Now it’s time to put it all together!
