Turkey Addition
We’ve been practicing adding to 10 a lot lately. Being able to add to 10 quickly is used in many other methods so I figure the more practice he has with it, the better!
Since it’s Thanksgiving, we made a turkey! I cut out a circle and another shape that looks a bit like an 8 without the holes. We cut a triangle for the beak, 2 black dots for the eyes, and a red raindrop shape for the wattle. Then I cut out 10 feathers and put the addition facts on them (1+_, 2+_, and _+4, _+5, etc).
Before I had even finished gluing all the pieces down Baloo was asking me if he could work on it! He sat right down and started on it!![]()
Once he finished the equation he would tape the feather onto the back.![]()
And when he was finished we had a ‘”Ten Turkey”. He’s now hanging in the kitchen so we can practice adding to 10 every day!![]()

What a great activity! My daughter would love this.
Thanks for the great idea! We did it and put it on our blog with a link back to you!
