Turkey Addition
We’ve been practicing adding to 10 a lot lately. Being able to add to 10 quickly is used in many other methods so I figure the more practice he has with it, the better!
Since it’s Thanksgiving, we made a turkey! I cut out a circle and another shape that looks a bit like an 8 without the holes. We cut a triangle for the beak, 2 black dots for the eyes, and a red raindrop shape for the wattle. Then I cut out 10 feathers and put the addition facts on them (1+_, 2+_, and _+4, _+5, etc).
Before I had even finished gluing all the pieces down Baloo was asking me if he could work on it! He sat right down and started on it!
Once he finished the equation he would tape the feather onto the back.
And when he was finished we had a ‘”Ten Turkey”. He’s now hanging in the kitchen so we can practice adding to 10 every day!
What a great activity! My daughter would love this.
Thanks for the great idea! We did it and put it on our blog with a link back to you!
