Reindeer SuDoKu Puzzles – Christmas Logic Fun
SuDoKu have slowly become an integral part of our lives. They are such a great way to practice logic skills and there are so many themes available that we can always find a reason to work on one.
It’s my hope that my kids will graduate to 9×9 with numbers one day!
It is Christmas week here at Royal Baloo! We have teamed up with the great Cassie at 3Dinosaurs.com and the great Deidre at JDanial4sMom.com for a week full of Christmas printables!
I love beginning SuDoKu puzzles (as evidenced by the great collection, including some many old ones in packs!). They’re such a fun way to work on deductions and basic logic skills. Plus they’re cute and colorful.
How to Set Up the Reindeer SuDoKu
I prefer to prep these ahead of time so my kids can just get right into solving the problem. So I cut out the pieces and attach them to the puzzle board with a paper clip. Easy peasy!
How to Use the Reindeer SuDoKu Set
The idea of the game is to have one of each picture in each row, column, and square.
So you start with a game board with only a few pieces already in place. The next step is to eliminate some possibilities. Guessing is very much discouraged in SuDoKu, and with these puzzles, there shouldn’t be a need to guess at all!
For example, on this puzzle, I started by adding the green hat reindeer to the top left corner. We can tell at the beginning that two pieces are missing from the top row. The far left cannot be the red hat reindeer face because of the piece in the lower left-hand corner.
I try to let my kids work on the puzzles and make mistakes. They always seem to go back more carefully on the second go around!
