Fun Reading and Writing with Roll a Spring Sentence
If you have to chance to be silly, I say take it. That’s always been my philosophy and we have become a very silly family. But silliness keeps me young and lets us just have fun.
So when we have the chance to take our silliness to our school work, it’s so happening,
And since it’s spring, that means spring themed silly sentences!
I love completely diving into themes and centering all of our activities around that theme – things like Spring themed yoga poses to go with the spring roll a silly sentence!

This is one of my kids favorite printable activities. They enjoy making the silliest and strangest sentences and then collapsing in laughing. I cannot complain about that.
How to Set Up the Roll a Spring Sentence
All in all, set up is not too harm. If you use the larger version with photo cubes – just cut it out, insert the pieces, and make your sentences. Otherwise you’ll have to make the dice, which isn’t that bad either.
Simple cut on the solid lines, fold on the dotted lines, and tape or glue together. By the 3rd one, you’ll be a pro.
Make sure to print the board that matches your dice.

You should end up with three dice that look like these. Each one has a specific part of speech. The cubes should be able to match with any other one and make sense (maybe not logically, but grammatically).
How to Play with the Roll a Spring Sentence
We usually pick one person to start and they throw the dice as high up as possible. The rest of us scramble to grab one and put it in it’s place. Then we all read the sentence amid mock confusion.
My kids loathe writing but I try to convince them to write the sentences for a record. It could be a fun story prompt activity, too!
