Subtraction Fun with Valentines Day Clip Cards
It is day two of the Valentine’s Printable show down. Just kidding, not a show down. Just a fun week where Cassie from 3Dinosaurs.com and I get together to crate a lot of great printables! This week is all about Valentine’s Day, so I hope you are feeling the love.
If you want to stay up to date on all the great printables, the newsletter is the place to be! Plus, there will be an exclusive freebie at the end of the week (*hint* it has to do with division this week).
How to Set Up the Valentines Subtraction Clip Cards
Supplies:
Cardstock
Laminator
Clothespins
Permanent Markers
I definitely recommend printing on cardstock or laminating, but it is not necessary to do both…unless you’re using them for multiple children (like in a classroom) or you want to use them over a longer period of time. For the most part though, one method or the other is perfectly fine.
So just print and cut! There are four cards per page and the pages should all line up for easy cutting.
You absolutely do not need fun and colorful clothespins. My children are willing to play with clothespins no matter how fun they look. But adding these hearts was super simple. I just used permanent markers to color the tips red and then added a heart with black. Pink and red would be a fun combo too!
How to Use the Valentines Subtraction Clip Cards
Clip cards are such a great and simple way to practice nearly any concept. In fact, they are so simple that I ignored them for awhile. I didn’t think my kids would enjoy them or that they would see right through the simplicity.
Instead I think they embrace the simplicity. There is something fun about playing with clothespins and even better if there is a goal in mind..
We use clip cards to reinforce concepts we are already working on. It might just be a simple activity but it’s a great way for me to have one child busy while I work with another. Plus, it’s really easy to go back and see if they got the correct answers or not.
