Daily writing

Baloo really enjoys writing so I am doing my best to take advantage of that!!  I was inspired by Mama Jenn’s Calendar Notebooks but with just one child writing I didn’t really need to separate everything in quite the same way.  And Baloo is not quite old enough to do it all by himself so we do this after our normal calendar time.  It’s quite simple – I’ve given him a place to write the day, the date and an alternative way to write the date, the weather, and at the end I’ve including an interesting fact.  There is a box for him to glue in a picture of the weather as well as a place for him to describe the weather in his own words if he so chooses.

This was the first draft!  After some trial and error I changed it a bit.  This was one a day that he didn’t want to describe the weather and that random shape at the bottom is where he traced his fist to see the size – his idea not mine!  The best part of this day was when he asked everyone to make a fist to see how big their heart was.

He really gets into this sometimes!  And the interesting facts seem to get him thinking!
