I think the hardest part of gardening is the waiting.  You start by putting in a ton of work getting the bed ready, planting the seeds, watering, etc.  There is a lot of work to be done in the beginning stages.  Then you wait.  And wait.  And wait.

The time between planting a seed and seeing the sprout is the worst part of gardening.  For me, I’m not sure anything is actually going to sprout.  For the kids, they have no clue what is going on!  They want to see the seed and see the changes occurring.  So I thought a fun booklet to show them the changes that a seed undergoes would be fun.

Of course, this is a generic seed.  Other seeds may look different!  But the general idea will be the same.

This set includes a booklet which follows a seed through its journey from planting to sprouting.  Each page features adorable yet accurate illustrations showing the changes.  There are 5 pages in the booklet.  It’s really more of an overview of the process aimed at kids about 5-8.  The language should be simple enough for a 1st or 2nd grader to read alone.

There is also a matching Word Search/ABC Order page to go with the booklet.  I took some key words to focus on (like seed, sprout, etc.) for a bit of extra exposure.  The booklet and matching page are meant to be fun and informative.
