Train Play–100 Days of Play

Today we are participating in the 100 Days of Play hosted by SunScholars and Life at the Zoo!

I love to just play with my boys most of the time.  No lie, there are definitely some days where the last thing I want to do is make ‘chug chug chug’ noises for an hour straight…but it’s those days where we get creative and add in a new twist to the play!

For the 100 Days of Play challenge we are trying to change it up a bit and not stick to the same old activities we seem to do all the time.  Lucky for me, all my boys enjoy playing with trains, and there are so many different ways to play with trains!

Today we decided to combine legos and trains.  We got out a few of our more colorful trains, and then sorted some legos based on the color.

And then we got to work building sheds for the trains.

Baloo knew exactly what he wanted!

Once all the sheds were built Royal and Baloo worked together to connect them all…so all the trains would be close to their friends.

One big happy family!

Then we got to just play with the trains!

We had a great time just sitting around and building with legos.  We were all working together on this project, yet still working independently which helped to avoid any arguments.  And since we had the piles color coded, there was no fighting over pieces either!

We are just getting started on these 100 days of play!  Make sure to check out the Pinterest link for all past ideas, and keep checking back for the rest of the challenge!
