The Winter Multiplication Code Breaker was such a huge hit, and I had so many requests for an addition version, I decided I had better hop to it and get it done. The hardest part was finding new riddles! But indeed, these are not the same as the multiplication version! Get ready for all new jokes and riddles.

How to Use the Winter Addition Code Breaker
These code breakers turned out to be so much fun and they require so little prep! Simply print (on cardstock) and cut around the edges. Poke a small hole through the middle of both ‘gears’ of the code breaker. Stack them and put a bread through the middle. Make sure it’s not so tight that you cannot turn the inner wheel.
Print the riddle cards double sided. They are designed to print the right answer on the back if you print double sided.
How to Use the Winter Addition Code Breaker
If you line up one number, all the numbers should be lined up correctly. However, you can let them figure that out on their own!
Simply read the riddle and try to guess the answer. If you get it and want to check, or feel stuck, use the equation clues. Find the equation you need on code breaker inner wheel. Solve the problem and match up the equation to the answer.
Write the letter next to the answer down on the right line of your riddle. Once you solve all of the equations on the back of the card, you should have your answer!
