Tot School – Week of Feb 14

Royal is 21.5 months

I am amazed that we did so many Valentines activities and didn’t get a single picture!!  Oh well, here’s what we did get pictures of!
Playing with Wedgits.  He didn’t care much for the bigger pieces – just wanted to put the little white ones in the base!

Painting!  This child could paint forever.  And his favorite color?  Purple!  Of course I would have 2 boys that like pink and purple!

Salt painting.  This didn’t go over well.  He was very uninterested in painting and spent most of his time dumping the water from one cup to another.

Not a great shot, but here is his reading his favorite book.  He knows exactly where to find it on the shelf and pulls it out daily.

He actually got a lot of these shapes in by himself with little frustration.  We also used the board to talk about colors and tried to build some towers.

Playing with the peg board.  He was able to get the pieces onto the little mats although after that he was more interested in knocking down what Baloo was making.

Playing with our Nn drawing.  His favorite is pointing out the nose – which is also his favorite body part to point out!  Those are the vocab cards that Baloo cut out from the RRSP program at 1+1+1=1.

And his favorite activity this week – playing outside at the water table!

Puzzles!  We had an animal puzzle and an emergency vehicles puzzle out this week.  Royal did really well with both of them!

He also enjoyed using them to play on the shape board.  We had the animals climbing/running/jumping all over the shapes, and in between to!

A little bit of stringing.

Royal figured out the best way to pull the string through was the use his mouth.

And our pet shop!  You can read more about our pet shop here!

  1. Oh how I miss the water table. I can't wait for warm weather here so we can get back outside. My little guy has a peg board too…he puts the pegs in the holds it up and pops them out from the back trying to shoot them at the cat. Nice huh.

  2. My kids are in the habit of turning an intended activity into something different entirely like your little guy did with the salt painting. 🙂 I like your idea of the Nn drawing with the vocab cards on it. My little guys love the art easel and this would be a great way to reinforce the letter of the week! Thanks for sharing.
