How to Set Up the Pumpkin Place Value Clip Cards
Clip cards need a little more stability than other printable activities so it’s best to print these on cardstock. If cardstock isn’t an option, laminating should work fine as well.
There isn’t much set up required for these cards. You can color or paint the clothespins to make them match, but it isn’t necessary!
Just print them out, cut them out, and you’re ready!
How to Use the Pumpkin Place Value Clip Cards
These clip cards are very easy to use. Simply attach a clothespin on the right answer.
In these cards, the answer is in expanded form. Expanded form helps kids to see why place value matters. A 2 in the tens places is not just a 2, it is actually a 20.
So the number 36 would be 30+6 in expanded form.
Some of the cards have tricky answers where the tens and ones are reversed. So the answers for 74 might be 70+4 and 40+7. Make sure to pay attention to the places!
