St Patrick’s Day Slime
I’m in love with making slime. It’s just such an interesting texture and substance. I’m constantly mesmerized by the way it moves. I just cannot get enough.
And thankfully, neither can the boys! They all love it, including Baloo who is usually resistant to messy sensory play!! He doesn’t like getting his hands dirty.
I wanted to make it a bit different this time and added glitter! It doesn’t show up well in the pictures, and I probably could have used twice the amount of glitter anyway, but it did turn out really pretty!! I’m also wondering if using clear glue would have an effect…
Slime Recipe:
1 bottle glue (I prefer Elmers)
2 cups water
1 tsp borax
Optional:
Food Coloring
Glitter
Mix 1 cup of hot water with the bottle of glue. Set aside. (add glitter and/or food coloring here)
Mix 1 cup of hot water with 1 tsp borax. Stir until dissolved.
Mix the two bowls together until you get a slimey substance.
I’ve found that if you let it sit out for a bit it turns much more slimey and less goopy. Ours stuck to my hands for a bit, but within 5-10 minutes it was more slime-like.
The boys dug right in! That’s Baloo on the left!
They found that you could scoop it up but it slowly started to ooze out of your hands.
They were making roads by letting it slowly ooze onto the tray.. This was a real test of patience.
Logi-Bear got in on the action too. He wasn’t so sure about it at first.
