Tot School – letter G
Royal is 32.5 months old
This week we focused on the letter G for goat. Royal had a little goat figure that he carried around for most of the week and enjoyed talking all about goats!
He traced the letters all on his own! I think this is a first for him!
He also helped me color some of the goats. He was pretty upset when he couldn’t color with a white crayon on white paper.
We glued some G words onto our big G on the easel.
And he drove his cars around on our G street (to all the differently colored houses)
We played with our big letter G a lot. We traced it with our finger…
And used it to sing songs (this is actually an F so the song was “Royal has an F on his belly”)
Royal really likes animals so he enjoyed the farm theme immensely! He loved matching the Little People animals to the animal cards.
I tried to dig out a bunch of farm books and Royal enjoyed every single one.
We spent a lot of time just playing this week. Royal borrowed some of Baloo’s unit blocks and put one on each finger. He was quite proud!
Baloo just loves Angry Birds so we made an Angry Bird snack. Royal tried the yellow peppers too!
And we painted. We painted a lot. And Royal painted a lot of “shadows”.
That’s it for us this week! Now we move onto the letter H!
Fun week! My daughter loves to paint too. I really like your fabric letters. Did you make those or buy them somewhere?
I make them myself! I used the tutorial here:
http://chezbeeperbebe.blogspot.com/2009/10/tutorial-how-to-make-plush-alphabet.html
Except I don’t put magnets in, and I finish them off with a zig-zag stitch around the edges. They are super easy to make and I just use fabric scraps!
Where did you find your dry erase holder? It’s nice how you can slide papers into it to hold.
I got them on Amazon, though I’ve seen them at Target too.
These are the ones we have:

But these look pretty much the same, except about $5 less right now!

I really love them too. My boys, like most kids their age, do not like worksheets. But they are more than willing to do worksheet after worksheet in the dry erase centers!
