31 Days of Simple Sensory
For March, Cassie from 3 Dinosaurs and I have decided to focus on simple sensory ideas! We would like you to spend 30 minutes with your child doing simple sensory activities every day for 31 days!
Sensory activities include anything that you use your senses for – taste, touch, smell, hearing, or seeing. Activities that use more than one sense are even better! Here are some ideas to get you started:
Taste:
Have a taste test with different foods. Try to include sweet, salty, and bitter!
Talk about your favorite foods
Smell:
Bake or cook something
Go on a “scent” hunt and see what you can smell
Make a scent matching activity with essential oils or fragrances
Touch:
Compare different objects based on how soft/rough they are
Use sandpaper letters/numbers
Play with water in the sink (or a small tub)
Sensory bins
Sound:
Make and play musical instruments
Go on a “sound” hunt outside
Try to whisper and then yell to see the difference
Sight:
Go in a dark room and play with a flashlight
Use a light table
Experiment with colors (such as my walking water experiment)
We hope you’ll join us in this challenge!! And if you’d like, feel free to use our button on your blog!
