3rd Grade Secular Homeschool Curriculum Choices

You guys.  I do not have a 3rd grader.  This is not possible!  I knew Baloo was getting older.  He’s just going to move out one of these days. And I knew Logi-Bear wasn’t a baby anymore.

But when did my little Royal grow up??  How can he be a THIRD grader?

He is turning into this amazing child and I just love watching him grow up and becoming himself more and more.  Going into 3rd grade, similar to Logi-Bear, we are focusing on Kindness and Experiences. We’re especially working on responsibility with Royal and the experiences are great for that.

Get ideas for terrific 3rd grade homeschool curriculum! We have outlined everything we will be using this year for a great 3rd grade homeschool year.

Reading:
All About Reading Level 3
(We are almost done with this.  Royal is a good reader and I haven’t decided if we will buy Level 4 or not at this point)

Writing:
Brave Writer – Jot it Down
All About Spelling – level 1/2

Math:
Singapore Math
Times Tales
Prodigy
Multiplication.com

Science:
Real Science Odyssey – We haven’t decided which one to use yet.  Logi-Bear and Royal will be doing the same level though because science is one area that we combine multiple levels.  It allows me to get a lot more done. So whether we finish Bio 1 or move onto Chem 1, we will see…

History:
Like science, this is the same as with Logi-Bear.  We will be working through ancients with our own program. If you’d like updates on the program I’m putting together when it’s ready, you can sign up here. No weekly e-mails, just updates on the history stuff.

I’m hoping to delve more into Royal’s interests this year. He’s started dabbing in some acting at a local theater (of sorts..) and he’s interested in learning drums. So we’re investigating what it will take to continue with those.

    1. Hi Monique!

That book is from a set we bought at Costco but they sell them individually on amazon, too.

We’ve been pretty happy with them but they’re very basic. I’d say they’re a good starting point for scratch.
