Christmas Find and Dot the Sums

Do you ever take a break to focus on one subject?

We’re taken a break right now to focus on memorizing math facts.  It’s been something we’ve worked on but right now we are focused on that.  The holidays tend to mean less learning anyhow, so I thought I’d make a more manageable goal for us this year.  Learning our math facts.

We’re going to use multiple techniques: games, hands on activities, dot pages, etc.  So I’ve been making a few additional things, such as this fun Christmas Find & Dot the Sums.  Addition pages from 1-20.

Everything is better with a Christmas theme, right? Why not practice sums and addition with a fun Christmas page! Christmas sums are just better.

Addition is a hot topic in our house.  Well, that’s not true.  It’s a hot topic for me; everyone else just wishes I’d stop.  Ha!  Both Logi-Bear (5) and Royal (7) are working on memorizing their math facts.  I think it’s very important so we spend a good amount of time working on it.

These pages are no prep.  I really like doing no prep materials because sometimes I just need something and quick.

How to Use the Christmas Find and Dot Sums

First, go through all the equations and find the answer.  There is a space for all of them to write the answer.

Next, dot the ones that equal to the sum of the page.

Last, write the dotted equations at the bottom.

I’m printing out a bunch of these to keep on hand for those slow moments.  You know, when you want to get something, anything, done and you need the kids distracted for a few minutes?  That’s what I’m saving these for!  Seriously, my house needs to be cleaned, baking needs to be done, and everything else that comes up around the holidays.
