Tot school – week 2!

Royal is 13 months

We just had a fun week here.  Daddy was home much of the week and we took a spontaneous trip to the zoo.  We just did a little bit of tot school as we are still getting into our school routine.

Royal loves pom-poms.  This isn’t the first time I’ve pulled out this activity for him.  He will play with the glass jar, put pom-poms in and take them out.  He will try to screw the lid on and then take it off.  And amazingly, he doesn’t try to eat the pom-poms!

And he really loves our new geo sorter toy.  He usually just picks one or two pieces to play with and bang together.

And naturally he loves to knock down other peoples towers.

Royal really likes animals and animal sounds.  I think I could entertain him all day by playing with animals.  So his first chunky puzzle had to be animals.  He will pick an animal, I tell him what it is and what sound it makes (cue laughter) and then he eats it or throws it.  If we have the geo board out, sometimes the animals will run up the stairs…

We tried to walk in Daddy’s boots.  Royal was not impressed.

Royal also wasn’t very impressed on our zoo trip.  He did get to enjoy some ice cream, but other than that the only animal he was even remotely interested in was this owl.  It flew from one branch to another right when we got there and got his attention.

I felt daring this week and let Royal investigate some play-doh.  He did continuously put it in his mouth, but immediately spit it out again.  I figured once he tasted it and didn’t like it he would stop…but I was wrong.

That’s it from us this week!!  Make sure to check out 1+1+1=1 for more amazing tot school ideas!

  1. Ah, yes, stacking things, banging things, and then knocking them down! 🙂 Good times!

Hopped over here from Tot School – love the owl picture!

    Best wishes, Kara

  2. I'm so impressed by parents who do tot school with their teeny little ones. Keep it up! 🙂

How nice that he doesn't try to eat the pompoms. I caught my 9 month old with a pompom in his mouth last week, and I'm so thankful he didn't swallow it!
